Mezmure Kristos and Metsihafe Bahrey have been lost to the masses because they were written in Geez, an almost dead language used only by the Church. These books are important not only because they capture an important cultural portrait the lives and exploits of the people of Ethiopia, but also for their contributions to religious, geographical, sociological, and literary learning of the time of their writing.
